As we continue our series of BL African coffees, we now bring you to Tanzania, located just south of Kenya. Tanzania is known for its exotic wildlife and national parks, coffee though usually doesn't come to mind. Let us introduce you to some unique Tanzania coffee. The Tanzania Mwalyego comes from Mwalyego AMCOS (Agricultural Marketing and Cooperative Society), operates the Mwalyego washing station [pronounced Mwah-lee-ay-go]. This is a 150-farmer strong Co-op near Iwala, in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. More specifically you can find these farms about 10 miles west of Mbeya City, on the southern slopes of Mount Mbeya.
This coffee always ranks high at the Tanzanian auction. Its a blend of varietals creating a smooth mouth feel with flavor notes of Peach, baker's chocolate, and snickerdoodle. This small group of farmers from Mwalyego are incredibly proud to bring you this coffee. We think our roasting profile highlights the quality of the coffee these farmers produced. We hope you enjoy!!
