Nestled between Guatelmala 's tallest volcanoes, Tajumulco and Tacana, the coffee trees at Finca Nueva Granada sit high on mountainous slopes in soil made rich by volcanic ash. After picking, employees use the farm's spring water source to pulp the cherries, washing and grading the coffees before they are dried on patios.
Adding to the list of single varietals we have offered, we present a 5-bag microlot of Guatemala - Laurina. This coffee is truly a one of a kind. Laurina is a unique coffee varietal originally found on Reunion Island in Madagascar. Beans from this 5-bag microlot appear elongated and unusually small in size because Laurina is a dwarf Bourbon varietal. Low in caffeine content and complexion flavor. Laurina isn't our typical, bread-and-butter type of coffee.
