Kenya - Kolombo Estate

Joseph Kolombo was not on our radar ahead of our winter 2026 visit to western Kenya, but we were relieved that he came to meet us at our pop-up lab in Eldoret after we’d had a chance to cup some of his coffees. His visit to the lab was short and sweet, as he was leaving the next day to see his son off to college in Australia, but we suspect he is somebody we’ll be visiting with more extensively in the future. Thus far, with only four years’ experience farming coffee, his results were already incredibly impressive and consistent across grades. His farm sits at 1,950 meters, is mostly Batian, and had not been exported directly or under his name until the 2026 export.
